Yoga Nidra is one of the most effective do-it-yourself tools I’ve found for downregulating my central nervous system, thereby making me calmer. It’s similar to Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR) promoted by Andrew Huberman. All you have to do is take a break from whatever you are doing, put on some headphones for ten minutes, and direct your attention to various parts of your body. Numerous videos walk you through the practice on YouTube. My favorite is below, but feel free to use another if you prefer.
