This week, I want you to work hard at nothing. That may seem like a bizarre prescription, but how often do you stop doing things outside of sleep? Before we all had smartphones, there were times when you were forced just to be. Now we can permanently entertain ourselves 24/7, and when faced with a single second of stillness, we are usually clamoring for our digital leash. Most of us can’t even sit on the toilet without this distraction device.
We’ve lost the ability to do nothing, but in that nothingness lies a world of possibilities. This isn’t meditation; it's allowing our minds to relax, wander, think, and grow. You can keep your eyes open or close them. The only rule is that you can’t externally engage with anything. Discover the power of sitting quietly twice daily for at least eight minutes. Put your mind at ease and see where it takes you.
